If Philadelphia leads after 7 innings, the Philadelphia outcome resolves to Yes. If Kansas City leads after 7 innings, the Kansas City outcome resolves to Yes. Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit from accurate forecasting. Prediction markets tend to aggregate dispersed information efficiently, sometimes pricing outcomes differently than traditional oddsmakers. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines can reveal where the crowd on Kalshi sees value or disagrees with conventional betting markets on the first-seven-innings outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the balance of buy and sell orders at any moment, with the spread between bid and ask representing the current liquidity and conviction. As new information emerges—injuries, weather, lineup changes—traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down to reflect updated probability estimates for the first-seven-innings result.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the first seven innings of the game are complete and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team has scored more runs through the end of the seventh inning. If the score is tied after seven innings, that tie is the recorded outcome. Resolution happens automatically once the official result is confirmed, and all winning shares are paid out according to their final value.
Several factors can shift prices before this market closes. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and last-minute roster changes often trigger significant moves. Weather conditions at game time—wind speed and direction especially—can favor one team's offensive or pitching style. Injury reports in the days leading up to first pitch may alter expectations for key players. Early game momentum, such as runs scored in the first few innings, will drive sharp price adjustments as traders update their forecasts based on live performance. Breaking news about team strategy or weather delays can also prompt rapid repricing.
