Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader belief and real-money commitment. Traders here have direct financial exposure to accuracy, which can push odds closer to true probability over time. Comparing this market's prices to traditional sportsbook lines reveals where consensus differs and highlights potential value or contrarian positioning.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing different outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the balance of buy and sell orders at any moment, with prices ranging from near zero to near one dollar per share. As new information emerges or trader conviction shifts, the bid-ask spread adjusts, and prices move to reflect updated expectations about the first three innings.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the event concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on what actually occurs during the first three innings of the game. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new developments unfold, allowing positions to be adjusted or closed before final settlement.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before resolution. Injury reports or roster changes announced before game time may alter expectations for either team's early performance. Weather conditions, recent team form, and starting pitcher matchups are key catalysts. As the game begins, live action—early runs, strikeouts, or momentum swings—will drive rapid repricing. Breaking news about player availability or unexpected lineup changes can also trigger sharp moves in trader positioning.
