MI New York and San Francisco Unicorns will compete in a Major League Cricket match on July 5, 2026. These markets track whether each team will exceed specific run thresholds during their innings, allowing bettors to wager on offensive performance levels.
Resolution is based on actual runs scored by each team in the match scheduled for July 5, 2026 at 9:30 PM EDT. If the match is cancelled before play begins or delayed more than 48 hours from the scheduled start, all markets resolve to fair market price as determined by the Exchange. If play begins but no official result is declared (including via DLS), markets resolve to fair market price except for statistics already definitively achieved, which resolve on recorded results. If the match is shortened with an official result declared (via DLS or ICC-approved method), statistical markets resolve based on actual recorded statistics only, with no projections or adjustments applied.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking profit through accurate forecasting. This market aggregates dispersed information from many participants, which can sometimes surface insights that sportsbooks haven't fully priced in yet. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion on MI New York's run total differs most sharply from professional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different run-total outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of active traders about MI New York's scoring potential. As new information emerges—injury reports, lineup changes, or early-game performance—traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market stays responsive to real-world developments leading up to and during the event.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the game between MI New York and the San Francisco Unicorns concludes and the final run total is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official recorded runs scored by the MI New York team during regulation play. Resolution happens automatically after the event is complete and the data is confirmed, allowing traders to settle their positions and collect winnings based on the actual result.
Key catalysts for this market include roster changes or injury announcements affecting MI New York's batting lineup, recent offensive performance trends, and the San Francisco Unicorns' pitching strength. Weather conditions on game day—wind speed and direction, temperature—can significantly influence run scoring. Early-inning performance during the game itself will drive sharp repricing as traders update their expectations based on live action. Pre-game commentary from analysts and any last-minute lineup adjustments will also influence trader positioning in the final hours before first pitch.
