Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. Often, prediction markets can be more accurate than traditional polls or analyst predictions, as traders have 'skin in the game' and are incentivized to make informed decisions. However, sportsbook odds are readily available and can provide a useful benchmark for comparison.
