Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that traders possess information not yet fully incorporated by sportsbooks, or simply a different assessment of probabilities. It’s worth comparing both to gain a broader perspective on the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. The current price indicates the market's consensus view on who is favored to win the match between Jordan Hasson and Arthur Weber, and it will fluctuate until the event concludes.
