Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to represent the true probability of an event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and reflect a broader range of opinions. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments and the influence of public perception.
