PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket limits resolution to 90 minutes plus stoppage time only, explicitly excluding extra time. Kalshi includes the entire game including extra time periods. This creates a scope mismatch that affects outcomes in matches that reach extra time.Hero tip: Check the match format before trading. If this is a regular season MLS match, extra time is unlikely and divergence risk is low. If this is a playoff or cup match where extra time is possible, the platforms have fundamentally different settlement windows. Polymarket traders should note that a goal in the 91st-120th minute resolves to Neither, not to the scoring team.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Resolves on first goal within 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time only. Extra time and penalty shootouts explicitly excluded. Resolution source is official statistics from governing body or credible reporting consensus if not published within 2 hours.
  • Kalshi: Resolves on first goal during entire game including regulation, stoppage, and any extra time periods. No explicit exclusion of extra time. Resolution source not specified in provided terms.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

The Galaxy vs. City SC first-goal market aggregates trader predictions across Polymarket and Kalshi on which team will score the opening goal in this matchup. Traders on both venues are pricing the likelihood of each outcome, with combined volume of $4,228 across all linked contracts. This market reflects real-time consensus from prediction market participants who assess team form, player availability, tactical setup, and historical scoring patterns. The dashboard displays current odds, recent trading activity, and comparative pricing between venues, helping you gauge where informed traders stand on the match's early momentum.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, often adjusting for sharp action and public bias. Prediction markets, by contrast, rely on trader consensus—participants stake real capital on their beliefs, creating a crowdsourced probability estimate. This market's odds reflect what thousands of traders collectively think will happen, rather than a bookmaker's margin-adjusted line. Many traders monitor both venues to spot discrepancies; prediction market prices often lead sportsbook moves when new information emerges.

Key catalysts include team news—injuries to star forwards or defensive players, lineup announcements, and tactical adjustments—which can shift scoring expectations significantly. Recent form and head-to-head history matter; a team on a hot streak or with a strong record in this fixture may see increased backing. Weather conditions closer to match day can influence pace and attacking play. Betting market moves on sportsbooks often precede prediction market shifts as sharp money flows in. Late-breaking roster changes, coaching decisions, or venue factors also drive repricing. Monitor sports news outlets and official team channels for updates that could reshape trader sentiment on this market.
