This market focuses on predicting which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming professional football game between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. It includes scenarios where either team scores first or if no touchdown is scored at all during the game, including any overtime periods.
The market resolves based on which team scores the first touchdown in the Pro Football game between Las Vegas and Los Angeles originally scheduled for September 20, 2026. All touchdowns—including offensive, defensive, and special teams plays—are counted, even if they occur in overtime. If neither team scores a touchdown at any point in the game, including overtime, the 'No team scores a TD' market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original scheduled time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can sometimes diverge from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of either team scoring first, the prediction market may show a different probability. These differences can present opportunities for informed traders, though it’s important to remember both represent probabilities of the same event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing a 'Yes' or 'No' outcome – in this case, whether Las Vegas or Los Angeles scores the first touchdown. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived probability of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that as more traders believe Las Vegas will score first, the price of the 'Yes' contract will rise, and vice versa. The market dynamically adjusts to incorporate new information and changing opinions.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first touchdown in the Las Vegas vs Los Angeles game. The result will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the settlement of all contracts traded in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Las Vegas or Los Angeles would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor a specific team's offensive style, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, any shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by expert analysis or media coverage, could lead to changes in the market price. Even late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could influence traders' beliefs and move the market.
