$
This market tracks whether Israel will announce the withdrawal of all ground forces from Lebanon by a specific date. On Polymarket, the current probability that Israel withdraws from Lebanon by December 31, 2026 is 9.5%, while the probability for withdrawal by September 30, 2026 stands at 1.8%. The resolution will be based on official announcements from the Israeli government or credible reporting consensus. Watch for any official announcement or significant development around December 31, 2026, which is the final date for potential resolution of this market.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Israel announces it has withdrawn all ground forces from Lebanon by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory, regardless of if some Lebanese territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice. The Shebaa Farms area is considered Israeli territory for the purposes of this market and will not be considered toward its resolution. The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations and financial incentives, which often diverge from traditional polling on Middle East policy. While polls measure stated public opinion on withdrawal timelines, prediction markets incorporate real-time geopolitical developments, diplomatic signals, and military assessments. Market participants betting real capital typically respond faster to breaking news and expert analysis than survey respondents, potentially offering a forward-looking signal distinct from snapshot polling data on this complex regional issue.
On Polymarket, the Israel withdraws from Lebanon by...? event is priced as binary outcome contracts tied to specific withdrawal deadlines. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing "yes" or "no" positions, with the current top outcome showing 9.5% probability. Price discovery occurs through continuous order-book matching, where each trade updates the implied probability. The market reflects collective expectations about diplomatic negotiations, military timelines, and geopolitical pressure, with liquidity concentrated around the most likely resolution dates.
The market resolves on Jan 1, 2027. Resolution hinges on whether Israel completes a full military withdrawal from Lebanese territory by the deadline specified in the contract terms. The outcome is determined by verifiable evidence of withdrawal status on the resolution date, assessed against official statements, international monitoring, and credible reporting. Markets may include multiple outcome branches for different withdrawal dates, allowing traders to bet on the precise timing of any Israeli pullback from Lebanon.
Key catalysts include ceasefire agreements or diplomatic breakthroughs between Israel and Lebanese authorities, shifts in Hezbollah activity or cross-border incidents, U.S. or international mediation efforts, and domestic political pressure within Israel. Military developments, such as changes in operational scope or casualty rates, can also shift market expectations. Statements from Israeli officials about withdrawal timelines, UN Security Council resolutions, and regional stability assessments will likely trigger significant price movements as traders reassess the probability and timing of any Lebanese withdrawal.
