This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between New Zealand and Ireland scheduled for 2026-06-19 in ICC T20 World Cup, Women. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to New Zealand will be considered correct if New Zealand is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Ireland will be considered correct if Ireland is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their beliefs. This market aggregates the views of many independent forecasters rather than a single oddsmaker, which can lead to sharper pricing on niche outcomes like toss results. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue undervalues or overvalues a particular outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that allows traders to buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of liquidity on either side, so large trades can move odds significantly. Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by holding shares until resolution. The continuous pricing mechanism means odds update in real time as new trades flow in, creating a dynamic reflection of the crowd's evolving forecast.
This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once the toss outcome from the New Zealand vs Ireland Women's T20 World Cup match is verified against credible public sources. The winning outcome is determined by which team calls correctly and wins the coin flip at the start of play. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match beginning, depending on official confirmation.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before the match. Team news—such as injury updates, lineup changes, or captain availability—may influence trader confidence in either side's luck or decision-making. Weather forecasts closer to match day could sway sentiment, since conditions sometimes favor certain toss strategies. Media commentary and expert predictions published in the lead-up can also trigger trading activity. Finally, any last-minute logistical changes or venue updates might prompt traders to reassess their positions and adjust their bets.
