Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

All platforms share identical resolution logic for determining the first team to score in the match.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with credible reporting as a fallback

Core resolution logic:

  • The market resolves to the team that scores first in the match, regardless of format (e.g., regular time, extra time, or stoppage time)
  • If neither team scores, the market resolves to "Neither"
  • If the game is postponed, the market remains open until the game is completed
  • If the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game, the market resolves to "Neither"

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Postponement: The market remains open until the game is completed
  • Cancellation: The market resolves to "Neither" if the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game
  • Delayed Statistics: If official statistics are not published within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used
Timing: Resolution occurs after the match concludes, based on official statistics or credible reporting if necessaryOur PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect crowd-sourced sentiment rather than set odds from bookmakers. In this market, trader dynamics can create sharper or wider spreads depending on recent performance and public sentiment. For example, if a key player is injured, prediction markets may adjust faster than sportsbooks. The gap between the two can also widen due to different risk models — sportsbooks manage liability differently. Monitoring both helps identify where crowd wisdom diverges from institutional lines, potentially revealing value opportunities.

On Polymarket and Predict, prices can vary because each platform attracts different user bases and has unique liquidity conditions. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one venue might see heavier betting from regional fans, skewing its probability. Trading volume differences also play a role — a platform with lower volume can experience sharper price swings from single trades. Additionally, each venue sets its own fee structure, which influences how traders place bets and therefore how prices form. These factors combined often create divergences in the displayed odds.
