PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's resolution logic contains a logical contradiction where all three mutually exclusive outcomes (Colorado win, Los Angeles win, tie) are programmed to resolve to Yes. Additionally, platforms disagree on the game date (July 7 vs July 8, 2026). This makes Kalshi's market fundamentally unresolvable.Hero tip: Avoid trading on Kalshi. Polymarket's market is logically sound with three mutually exclusive outcomes. Before trading, confirm the actual game date and time on MLB.com, as the date discrepancy indicates potential data quality issues across both platforms.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: All three outcomes (Colorado win, Los Angeles win, tie in first 5 innings) resolve to Yes. This is a logical impossibility—only one outcome can occur. Game scheduled July 7, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT. Key quote: 'If Colorado wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If Los Angeles D wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If Colorado and Los Angeles D tie...then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Three mutually exclusive outcomes: resolves to 'Colorado Rockies' if Colorado is winning at end of 5th inning, 'Los Angeles Dodgers' if LA is winning, or 'Draw' if tied. Game scheduled July 8 at 10:10 PM ET. Includes clear handling of postponements and cancellations. Key quote: 'This market will resolve to Colorado Rockies if...This market will resolve to Los Angeles Dodgers if...If the game is tied...the market will resolve to Draw.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. Polymarket

In the upcoming MLB game between the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers, scheduled for July 8 at 10:10 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Colorado Rockies" if the Colorado Rockies is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. This market will resolve to "Los Angeles Dodgers" if the Los Angeles Dodgers is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning. If the game is tied at the conclusion of the 5th inning, this market will resolve to "Draw". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the 5th inning has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. To know when a postponed game will be played, please check the home team's schedule on MLB.com for the listed team and look for the game described as a makeup game. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

The Colorado vs Los Angeles Dodgers game scheduled for July 7, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT will be evaluated at the conclusion of the first five innings. If Colorado leads after five innings, the Colorado outcome resolves to Yes. If Los Angeles Dodgers lead after five innings, the Los Angeles Dodgers outcome resolves to Yes. If the score is tied after five innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes within two days.

Frequently asked questions

The Rockies-Dodgers first 5 innings market aggregates trader predictions across multiple platforms to show which team will lead after the first five innings of play. This dashboard displays real-time consensus odds, historical price movements, and total liquidity across venues. By tracking the same question on Polymarket and Kalshi, you can compare how different trader communities price the outcome and spot divergences that may signal value. The combined view helps bettors identify where odds align or diverge most significantly.

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price the same event differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets reflect live trader consensus based on information flow and belief updates. Prediction market prices often react faster to breaking news, injury reports, or lineup changes, whereas sportsbooks may lag slightly to avoid sharp action. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines can reveal arbitrage opportunities or confirm where the broader market has settled.

On Kalshi, traders submit orders into a shared order book, creating a single price discovery mechanism. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Differences in liquidity, user demographics, fee structures, and the timing of information arrival across platforms can cause temporary price gaps. Additionally, each platform's rules around order cancellation, leverage, and settlement verification may influence how aggressively traders position themselves. These micro-differences typically narrow as arbitrageurs exploit spreads, but they create real opportunities for alert traders during volatile periods.

Key catalysts include lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmation, weather conditions at game time, and recent team performance trends. Injury reports or roster changes to either squad can shift odds significantly, as can public betting patterns that reveal sharp money positioning. Real-time game action—early runs, defensive plays, or pitcher changes—will drive price movement during the first five innings themselves. Monitor sports news feeds and team social media for updates that traders will immediately price into this market.
