Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit on accuracy. Prediction markets can sometimes price outcomes more efficiently because participants have real money at stake and no house edge to overcome. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where informed traders see value, though both venues serve different purposes in the broader sports betting ecosystem.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of all active traders about the likelihood of that outcome occurring. As new information emerges—injury reports, weather updates, or lineup changes—traders adjust their positions, causing prices to shift in real time. This decentralized pricing model means the odds you see are a live consensus of market participants, updated continuously until the market closes.
This market resolves around Jun 13, 2026, once the first five innings of the Atlanta versus New York game are complete and the final score is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team has more runs after exactly five innings of play. No extra innings or subsequent scoring affects the result. Resolution happens automatically once the event concludes and the data is confirmed, settling all open positions based on the official recorded score at that point in the game.
Several factors can shift odds before this market closes. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and last-minute roster changes often trigger sharp moves as traders reassess team strength. Weather conditions—wind direction, temperature, and humidity—can significantly impact scoring in the early innings. Injury updates to key players, bullpen availability, and recent team performance trends also influence pricing. Additionally, early-game momentum and actual scoring in the first few innings will drive real-time adjustments as traders react to live action, making this market highly responsive to breaking news and in-game developments.
