PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket and Kalshi differ on scheduled date (June 27 vs June 28), and Kalshi lacks explicit resolution logic for draws, no contests, and cancellations, while Polymarket specifies a 50-50 split and July 11 cutoff.Hero tip: Polymarket provides comprehensive edge-case coverage; Kalshi's binary Yes/No structure may default draws and no contests to No. Cross-check Kalshi's fine print before hedging or arbitraging between platforms.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Three-outcome resolution: Ochoa wins = Ochoa, Serrano wins = Serrano, draw/no contest/cancellation after July 11 = 50-50. Source: UFC.com. Scheduled date: June 27, 2026.
  • Kalshi: Binary resolution: Either Serrano or Ochoa wins = Yes. No explicit handling of draw, no contest, or cancellation. Scheduled date listed as June 28, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on peer-to-peer trading rather than fixed sportsbook lines. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, and the market price reflects collective belief about who will win. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, which set odds to balance liability, prediction markets aggregate dispersed information from many participants. This can lead to sharper or more volatile pricing, especially for preliminary bouts with lower mainstream attention. Comparing this market's consensus to major sportsbooks reveals whether professional oddsmakers and retail traders align on the lightweight matchup.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts distinct trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence how prices settle. Polymarket and Kalshi use different contract designs—one may frame the outcome as a binary yes/no, while the other uses winner-take-all mechanics—subtly shifting how traders interpret and price risk. Timing of large trades, platform-specific incentives, and variations in user base expertise can also widen the spread. Monitoring both venues helps you spot arbitrage opportunities and understand which platform's crowd is more confident in a particular fighter.
