Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. Consequently, the implied probabilities from Polymarket may differ from sportsbook odds, potentially offering value to informed bettors who can identify discrepancies. It’s common to see prediction markets aggregate information and wisdom of the crowd more efficiently than traditional betting venues.
