Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the outcome. If a significant amount of money is wagered on one competitor, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially providing an edge over traditional sportsbooks. However, it’s important to note that discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information and market participants. It’s always wise to compare both before making a decision.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price will fluctuate, providing a dynamic assessment of the event’s potential results. The current implied probability of a win for either Zhurba Oleksandr or Pavliuk Oleh is determined by the relative prices of the shares.
This market resolves around Sep 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Zhurba vs. Pavliuk match, as determined by the governing sporting body. The platform will then verify the outcome against these sources to determine which shares will pay out. Traders who correctly predicted the winner will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution. It’s important to monitor the event closely as the resolution date approaches.
