This market covers the second set of the professional tennis match between Zeynep Sonmez and Claire Liu at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 64 on July 1. Bettors predict which player will win that specific set.
Resolution is determined by the outcome of set 2 in the Zeynep Sonmez vs Claire Liu match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 64. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through real-money stakes. This market aggregates the collective judgment of participants who profit by predicting accurately, which can reveal information sportsbooks have not yet priced in. Comparing this market's implied probabilities to traditional sportsbook lines can highlight where the two communities disagree on the likely outcome of the second set.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers for contracts tied to each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the marginal probability traders assign to that outcome, with contracts ranging from near-zero to near-100 cents. As new trades execute, prices adjust instantly to reflect updated consensus. Liquidity and trading volume influence how tightly the bid-ask spread remains, affecting how easily you can enter or exit a position at a given price level.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the second set of the Sonmez versus Liu match concludes. The outcome is determined by which player wins that set and is verified against credible public sources covering professional tennis. Resolution occurs after the match result is confirmed and the platform processes the settlement. Until that point, prices remain active and traders can adjust positions based on match developments, player form, and other relevant signals.
Several factors could shift prices in this market before resolution. Injury reports or player fitness updates in the days leading up to the match may alter perceived chances. Head-to-head records, recent tournament performance, and court surface preference all influence trader positioning. During the first set, momentum and performance patterns often reshape expectations for the second set, triggering repricing. Weather conditions, player fatigue, and tactical adjustments visible during live play can also trigger significant moves. Real-time match commentary and score updates will be primary catalysts for volatility.
