Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes they research independently. This market aggregates decentralized trader conviction on the exact scoreline, which may price certain results differently than a bookmaker's opening line. Neither is inherently more accurate; comparison between the two can reveal where informed traders see value relative to conventional betting markets.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker and order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to each possible exact score. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome's price reflects the cumulative bids and asks from participants, with tighter spreads on heavily traded scorelines and wider spreads on less popular results. Prices update in real time as new trades clear, and the cost to move the odds depends on the depth of liquidity available at each price level. Traders can enter limit orders or execute market orders against existing liquidity pools.
This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the match concludes and the final scoreline is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact number of goals or points scored by each team at the end of regulation play. No adjustments are made for overtime, penalty shootouts, or other tiebreaker formats unless the market's terms explicitly state otherwise. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, after which all shares are settled according to the confirmed result.
Team news—injuries to key players, lineup changes, or managerial decisions—can shift odds significantly as traders reassess scoring potential. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions on match day all influence expectations for the final scoreline. Betting syndicates and sharp traders may move the market in advance of kickoff as new information emerges. During the match itself, early goals, red cards, or tactical adjustments will cause rapid repricing as the probability of each exact score outcome changes in real time. Public sentiment and social media discussion can also drive late movement as casual traders enter positions.
