This event group concerns the outcome of a single baseball game between the Yomiuri Giants and the Chunichi Dragons in Japan's NPB. The markets aim to predict which team will win the game, with considerations for potential postponements or cancellations.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for September 9 at 5:00AM ET: If the Yomiuri Giants win, the market will resolve to "Yomiuri Giants". If the Chunichi Dragons win, the market will resolve to "Chunichi Dragons". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves based on the outcome of the Japan NPB game between Chunichi Dragons and Tokyo Yakult Swallows scheduled for September 5, 2026, at 5:00 AM EDT. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled game concludes, provided it occurs within two days of the original date. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled beyond two days, the market resolves to a fair price. A tie results in a 50/50 resolution for both markets. The markets are independent of any official league affiliations, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can differ due to several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and access to information. Trading fees and platform-specific rules can also influence pricing. Furthermore, the volume traded on each platform—Polymarket currently has a volume of $71,901—affects price discovery. Differences in market design, such as the types of orders allowed or the availability of leverage, can also contribute to these discrepancies. These factors mean that while both platforms address the same question, the resulting prices may not always align.
