Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets allow traders to express genuine beliefs about outcomes. In this market, traders are directly wagering on the exact final score, which can reveal information sportsbooks haven't yet priced in—such as late-breaking team news or sharp money positioning. Comparing the two can highlight where market participants see value relative to traditional betting lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) model where traders continuously buy and sell shares of each exact score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of any given scoreline reflects the ratio of shares outstanding and the depth of liquidity available. As traders place orders, the AMM adjusts prices algorithmically to maintain balance. This mechanism ensures transparent, real-time pricing without a central bookmaker, and allows anyone to enter or exit a position at the current market rate.
This market resolves around Jul 5, 2026, once the match between Wydad and UnionTouargaSports has concluded and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regulation play. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score receive their payout, while all other positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, pending confirmation from official match records.
Key catalysts include team news such as injuries to star players, lineup announcements, or tactical changes that affect scoring potential. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions on match day can all shift trader expectations about likely scorelines. Late-breaking developments—such as a player suspension or unexpected lineup rotation—often trigger sharp repricing. Additionally, as the match approaches, historical betting patterns and expert analysis may influence how traders adjust their positions, causing the odds for certain exact scores to rise or fall significantly.
