Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the Wydad vs. Olympic Dcheira second half market displays real-time odds reflecting trader sentiment on which team will win the second half of this matchup. The interface shows the current price, historical price movements, and trading activity. Traders buy and sell shares based on their conviction, with prices updating continuously as new trades execute. This market aggregates the collective forecast of all participants, offering a dynamic snapshot of expected outcomes as match conditions evolve and new information emerges.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, incorporating margins that protect the house. Prediction markets, by contrast, rely on trader participation and real-money incentives to reveal true probability estimates. This market may reflect sharper or more volatile assessments than traditional sportsbooks, especially as match conditions change. Direct comparison depends on timing and which sportsbook you reference, since odds vary across venues.

On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism, where buying and selling pressure directly influences the odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregate belief of all active traders at that moment. As new information surfaces—team news, injury updates, or live match developments—traders adjust their positions, causing the price to shift. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices respond to new signals, and wider spreads may appear during low-activity periods.

Key catalysts include team lineups and injury announcements, which can shift expectations about attacking or defensive capability in the second half. First-half performance is a major signal—if one team dominates early, traders may adjust odds for the second half accordingly. Tactical adjustments made at halftime, weather conditions, and red or yellow cards issued in the first half all influence second-half dynamics. Live match momentum, substitutions, and any controversial referee decisions can trigger rapid repricing as traders reassess probabilities in real time.
