Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect decentralized trader consensus rather than bookmaker pricing models. Sportsbooks build in margins and adjust lines based on liability management, while prediction markets aggregate real-money bets from many participants with direct financial incentive to forecast accurately. For the Lily Zhang vs Hitomi Sato match, comparing Polymarket implied probabilities to major sportsbook lines can reveal where professional bettors and decentralized traders disagree on the likely outcome.
