On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that adjusts prices based on buy and sell volume. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on the match outcome, and the price reflects the aggregate probability that traders assign to each result. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome falls, creating a self-correcting mechanism. This continuous repricing ensures the market stays responsive to new information, trader sentiment, and real-world developments leading up to the event.
This market resolves around Jul 5, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will reflect the official winner of the table tennis contest between the two competitors. Until that point, traders can buy and sell shares as odds fluctuate. Resolution is automatic once the event is confirmed, and all positions settle according to the final result. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless.
Several factors could shift odds significantly before the match takes place. Recent performance data, head-to-head records, and ranking changes for either player often trigger repricing. Injury announcements, training updates, or statements from coaches can sway trader sentiment. Tournament draw positioning and seeding may also influence expectations. Closer to the event date, lineup confirmations and any last-minute withdrawals would likely cause sharp moves. Real-time match conditions—such as early-round results if this is part of a larger tournament—could further adjust probabilities as traders refine their forecasts.
