Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different liquidity pools and trader bases. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets let traders freely price outcomes based on their beliefs. This market may show higher or lower implied probabilities than traditional sportsbooks, depending on which venue has sharper information or deeper liquidity at any given moment. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus is strongest and where informed traders see value.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative conviction of all participants; as more traders back one player, that outcome's price rises and its implied probability increases. You can enter or exit a position at any time during the trading window, and your trade size influences the price you receive. Liquidity and spreads vary with trading volume and proximity to the event date.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official match winner as recorded by the tournament organizer and confirmed through established sports reporting channels. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares based on their expectations. Resolution is automatic once the event result is finalized and confirmed.
Several factors could shift odds before the match takes place. Recent tournament performance, injury reports, or player withdrawals would immediately impact trader sentiment. Head-to-head records and playing surface preferences matter in table tennis, so any news about venue conditions or player preparation could trigger repricing. Betting action from sharp traders or public sentiment swings can also move prices. Close to the event date, last-minute form updates or lineup confirmations often drive the largest moves as uncertainty resolves.
