Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and generate profit, while this market reflects the wisdom of the crowd. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in opinion. If you find a significant difference between the odds here and those offered by sportsbooks, it might indicate an opportunity for value betting, depending on your own assessment of the event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa.
