This market will resolve “Yes” if Cristiano Ronaldo scores a goal directly from a free kick during any match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. A direct free kick goal is one scored directly from the free kick and officially credited to Cristiano Ronaldo by FIFA. A goal that deflects off the wall or a defender and still enters the net counts, provided FIFA credits the goal to Ronaldo. A free kick first touched by a teammate does not count. Penalty kicks and penalty shootout goals do not count. If Cristiano Ronaldo does not play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup for any reason, this market will resolve to “50-50”. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed after August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined whether Ronaldo scored a direct free kick goal within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “50-50”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently because they operate on distinct mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and risk management, then adjust them to balance their book. Prediction markets like this one derive prices from continuous trader participation—buy and sell orders reflect real-time consensus. This market's odds may diverge from sportsbook lines because traders incorporate unique information, sentiment, and long-term conviction. Both venues can offer value, but prediction market prices often reflect deeper crowd wisdom on niche outcomes like a specific player's free kick conversion.
On Predict, traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the implied probability. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe Ronaldo will score a free kick, demand for yes shares rises and the price climbs; conversely, skepticism pushes the price lower. The market price at any moment represents the collective forecast of all active participants. This continuous pricing mechanism allows you to enter or exit your position at transparent, market-determined rates throughout the event window.
This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, once the World Cup concludes and the outcome is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on whether Ronaldo scores a goal directly from a free kick at any point during the tournament. Official match records and video evidence from credible sports media will confirm the final result. Until that date, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new matches are played and circumstances evolve.
Several catalysts can shift odds on this market. Ronaldo's recent form and injury status heading into the tournament will influence trader confidence. Team selection announcements and his role in set-piece routines matter significantly. Early World Cup matches featuring Ronaldo free kick attempts—whether successful or not—will provide concrete data and reshape probability estimates. Changes in his playing time, tactical shifts by his team, or standout performances in group stages can all trigger repricing. Media coverage and expert commentary on his free kick conversion rate will also sway sentiment among traders.
