This event group resolves to whichever team finishes in second place in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage (June 11-27, 2026). Both platforms offer binary markets on individual teams (Croatia, Panama, England, Ghana) plus an 'Other' catch-all option to cover all possible second-place finishers.
This market will resolve according to the team that finishes second in Group L in the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage, scheduled for June 11-27, 2026. If multiple teams tie for second place, this market will resolve according to the official tiebreak procedure of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. If the World Cup group stage is cancelled, postponed after July 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no second-place team declared for this group within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Predict operate independently from traditional sportsbooks, often reflecting different liquidity pools, trader demographics, and risk appetites. While sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, prediction markets aggregate distributed beliefs through continuous trading. For World Cup Group L second place, prediction market odds may diverge from sportsbook lines due to different information sets, time horizons, and the absence of traditional bookmaker spreads. Comparing both sources helps identify value and consensus shifts.
Key catalysts include team roster announcements, injury updates to star players, qualifying-round results that shift seeding, and pre-tournament friendlies revealing form. Coaching changes, tactical shifts, and draw-stage group composition will reshape expectations. As the tournament approaches, each group-stage match will trigger repricing: early wins or losses, goal-scoring trends, and head-to-head results directly influence second-place odds. Media narratives, betting syndicates' positioning, and late-breaking news about player availability will drive volatility on both Polymarket and Predict.
