Description

This market will resolve “Yes” if any team scores 10 or more goals in total across its three 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage matches. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Goals scored in regular time and stoppage time of a team's group stage matches count toward its total. Own goals scored by opponents in favor of the team count toward the team's total only if recorded as such by FIFA. Goals conceded do not count. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage is cancelled, postponed after July 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or official group stage results are not available within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “No”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time crowd sentiment and continuous trading rather than fixed odds set by oddsmakers. Sportsbooks typically adjust lines based on sharp action and liability management, while prediction markets aggregate thousands of individual traders' beliefs. For a niche prop like any team scoring 10+ group-stage goals, sportsbooks may offer limited liquidity or wider margins, whereas Polymarket allows direct peer-to-peer price discovery. Comparing the two venues reveals how professional bookmakers and decentralized crowds weight the same outcome differently.

On Polymarket, this outcome is priced through continuous automated market-making and order-book trading. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The contract trades as a binary yes/no pair, with the yes-side price reflecting the crowd's estimated probability that at least one team will accumulate 10 or more goals in group play. Traders buy and sell shares based on their conviction about offensive output across all eight groups. Price discovery accelerates as the tournament approaches and group compositions finalize. Polymarket's transparent order flow and low friction enable rapid repricing when squad news, injuries, or early match results shift expectations about scoring volume.

The market resolves on Jul 20, 2026, after the conclusion of all group-stage matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Resolution hinges on whether any single team accumulates 10 or more goals across their three group-stage fixtures. The outcome is determined by official FIFA match records and final group-stage statistics. Once all group matches are complete and verified, the market settles to yes if the threshold is met by any team, or no if no team reaches 10 goals. This timing ensures all group-stage data is finalized before settlement occurs.

Key catalysts include squad announcements and injury news for offensive stars, which alter scoring potential for top teams. Early group-stage results will be the strongest driver: if a team wins its first two matches by large margins, the odds of reaching 10 goals rise sharply. Tactical shifts, coaching changes, and unexpected team strength or weakness revealed in early matches will reprrice expectations. Fixture difficulty and opponent strength matter too; easier group draws increase scoring likelihood. As the tournament progresses and actual group-stage goals accumulate, the market will converge toward yes or no based on real performance data rather than preseason projections.
