Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome, potentially leading to more efficient pricing. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk appetites between prediction market participants and sportsbook operators. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks.
