These markets track how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Wisconsin and Penn State. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams in that quarter, with higher thresholds representing more points being scored.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Wisconsin vs Penn State college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play count; overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on Kalshi and a sportsbook. However, it's important to remember that prediction markets are forward-looking and incorporate new information quickly, potentially leading to different probabilities than those offered by sportsbooks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the total score in the fourth quarter will be over or under a certain number. The price of these contracts reflects the probability of that outcome, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the collective believes is the true probability. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a real-time assessment of expectations surrounding the game’s final quarter.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the fourth quarter of the Wisconsin vs Penn State game will be used to determine whether the 'over' or 'under' contracts will pay out. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the source of truth for the resolution. Traders holding contracts on the correct side will receive a payout based on the market price at resolution.
Several signals could significantly move this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Wisconsin or Penn State would likely impact the perceived scoring potential. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is expected during the game, could also influence trading activity. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale might also play a role. Furthermore, as the game progresses and early scoring unfolds, the market will rapidly adjust to reflect the evolving probabilities of the final fourth-quarter total.
