Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence how prices settle. Polymarket may have deeper liquidity or a user base more confident in one outcome, while Predict might reflect a different risk appetite or information set. These gaps typically narrow as the event date approaches, but they create arbitrage opportunities for traders monitoring both venues simultaneously.
Key catalysts include player injury announcements, recent tournament performance, head-to-head history, and court surface conditions at Wimbledon. Draws and seeding updates, pre-match interviews, or betting-market shifts from traditional sportsbooks can also trigger repricing. Weather forecasts and player fitness updates in the days leading up to the match may shift trader conviction, especially if either competitor reports physical concerns or demonstrates strong recent form.
