Description

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket separates completion and winner markets with conflicting retirement logic, while Kalshi conflates them into a single winner-after-ball-played criterion without explicit edge case handling.Hero tip: If you expect a retirement or default, Polymarket's winner market explicitly resolves to the advancing team, making it the clearer choice. Kalshi's market is ambiguous on this scenario. For pre-match walkovers, Polymarket winner market resolves 50-50, but Kalshi provides no guidance. Verify with Kalshi support before trading.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Two separate markets: (1) Completion market resolves NO on any forfeit, retirement, or walkover; (2) Winner market resolves to advancing team if retirement/default occurs mid-match, but 50-50 if walkover (pre-match withdrawal). Primary source: WTA Tour official information. Quote: 'If the match begins but is not completed, and one team advances due to the opponent's retirement, default, or disqualification, this market will resolve to the team who advances.'
  • Kalshi: Single market resolves YES if either team wins after a ball is played. No explicit handling of retirements, defaults, walkovers, or cancellations. Implicitly treats any outcome after play begins as valid. Quote: 'If Darija Jurak Schreiber / Antonia Ruzic wins...after a ball has been played, then the market resolves to Yes.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the doubles tennis match between Jurak/Ruzic and Eikeri/Gleason in the Wimbledon WTA, originally scheduled for July 2, 2026 at 6:00AM ET. This market will resolve to 'Jurak/Ruzic' if the team of Jurak/Ruzic advances against Eikeri/Gleason. This market will resolve to 'Eikeri/Gleason' if the team of Eikeri/Gleason advances against Jurak/Ruzic. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team advances due to the opponent's retirement, default, or disqualification, this market will resolve to the team who advances. If the match ends in a walkover (a team withdraws before the start and the other advances automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the WTA Tour. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Kalshi

Resolution requires that a ball be played in the match, establishing that the match has officially commenced. The winning pair is determined by standard professional tennis match rules. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or other cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. Postponements or delays do not close the market; it remains open and resolves after the rescheduled match concludes, provided this occurs within two weeks of the original date.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on peer-to-peer trading rather than fixed odds set by a sportsbook. Traders buy and sell shares reflecting their belief in each outcome, with prices converging toward true probability over time. Sportsbooks, by contrast, set odds to balance liability and extract margin. Prediction market prices often reflect sharper, more dynamic consensus—especially as the event approaches—because traders have direct financial incentive to correct mispricings. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal value opportunities or consensus gaps.
