Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under different market rules, fee structures, and user bases, which can create temporary price gaps. Kalshi and Limitless may attract traders with different information sets, risk tolerances, or time horizons. Additionally, order flow timing and liquidity depth vary between platforms, so a large trade on one venue may move prices faster than on the other. These differences typically narrow as informed traders arbitrage between them, but gaps can persist if regulatory or technical barriers limit cross-platform trading.
Player form and recent match results are primary drivers—strong performances in lead-up tournaments or public statements about fitness can shift trader sentiment. Injury reports, withdrawal announcements, or changes to tournament seeding will trigger sharp repricing. Head-to-head history and court-surface preferences also influence positioning, especially as match day approaches. Media coverage, betting syndicate activity, and shifts in player rankings can amplify moves. Late-breaking news on either player's condition or mental state typically generates the largest intraday swings.
