Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity levels, and fee structures, all of which influence price discovery. Kalshi's binary contract design and regulatory framework may appeal to a different cohort than Limitless's format, leading to distinct order flow and risk appetite. Timing lags between platforms, varying access to breaking news about player injuries or conditions, and differences in how each platform handles market depth can create temporary spreads. These gaps typically narrow as arbitrageurs trade across venues, but they offer opportunities to identify where consensus is still forming.
Player injury announcements, recent tournament performance, and court surface conditions are the primary catalysts that shift odds before the match. If either player withdraws or reports a significant injury, this market would reprice sharply. Recent head-to-head results, ranking changes, and performance in warm-up events leading into the tournament also influence trader positioning. Weather forecasts, draw announcements, and any changes to tournament scheduling can trigger repricing. Real-time updates during the match itself—such as early set outcomes or visible physical issues—will drive final adjustments as resolution approaches.
