Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently. Sportsbooks set odds based on their risk models and aim to balance action on both sides; prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. This market reflects what traders believe will happen, whereas sportsbook odds incorporate margin and hedging strategies. Over time, prediction market prices often converge toward actual outcomes because traders have direct financial incentive to forecast correctly. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where consensus diverges.
