PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket enforces strict match completion (no forfeits, retirements, or walkovers) for most markets, while Limitless and Kalshi permit resolution based on player advancement through any official winner declaration. This creates different outcomes if the match ends via retirement, default, or walkover.Hero tip: Polymarket's completion-focused markets (e.g., 'Completed Match') will resolve NO if the match ends via retirement or walkover, even if a player is officially declared the winner. Limitless and Kalshi will resolve to the advancing player in those scenarios. For set-specific and game-total markets, Polymarket defaults to 50-50 if the set is not completed; Limitless and Kalshi do not explicitly address incomplete sets. Verify which platform's logic applies to your position before settlement.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Strict completion requirement: 'This market will resolve to Yes if all games and sets required to determine a match winner...are played to completion through normal play. Otherwise...if the match is not completed for any reason, it will resolve to No. If a forfeit of any kind occurs, including but not limited to a walkover or retirement, this market will resolve No.' Set-specific and game-total markets resolve 50-50 if the set is not completed.
  • Limitless: Permissive advancement logic: 'A player officially declared the winner of the match will be considered to have defeated the opponent, including in cases of walkover, retirement, withdrawal, default, or disqualification.' No explicit 50-50 fallback for incomplete sets or forfeits.
  • Kalshi: Ambiguous but permissive: 'If [either player] wins the Fritz vs Lajovic professional tennis match...after a ball has been played, then the market resolves to Yes.' No explicit exclusion of forfeits or retirements; language suggests any official winner declaration qualifies.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price outcomes differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets rely on trader consensus—buy and sell pressure from participants with real money at stake. Prediction markets often reflect sharper, more efficient pricing because traders can profit by identifying mispricings. However, sportsbooks may move faster on breaking news or injury reports. For this matchup, comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook lines can reveal whether one venue undervalues or overvalues Fritz's chances.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and risk appetites, which naturally creates pricing variance. Kalshi's regulatory structure and user base may emphasize certain information flows differently than Polymarket's. Settlement timing, fee structures, and platform-specific trading mechanics also influence how quickly prices adjust to new information. Additionally, one venue may have concentrated positions or lower overall volume, making it more susceptible to temporary imbalances. Monitoring both platforms helps you identify arbitrage opportunities and understand which venue's traders hold stronger conviction on the Fritz vs Lajovic outcome.

Several catalysts could shift odds before the match begins. Injury reports or player withdrawals would trigger sharp repricing. Recent tournament form, head-to-head records, and surface-specific performance data often drive trader positioning in the days leading up to play. Court assignments and weather forecasts can also matter, since grass conditions at Wimbledon vary. Media narratives around momentum, mental state, or coaching changes may influence sentiment. Closer to match time, warm-up tournament results and official practice reports typically generate fresh trading activity. Monitor news feeds and platform activity closely to catch early moves before consensus fully prices in new information.
