PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi and Limitless treat all official winner declarations (including walkovers) as valid resolutions to that player, while Polymarket's winner market treats pre-match walkovers as 50-50 and its completion market treats all forfeits as No. This creates three different resolution paths for walkover scenarios.Hero tip: Monitor for pre-match withdrawals. If either player withdraws before the match starts, Kalshi and Limitless will resolve to the advancing player, but Polymarket's winner market resolves to 50-50 and its completion market resolves to No. If the match begins and is abandoned mid-play, all platforms converge on the advancing player as the winner.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Binary resolution: Yes if either player wins after a ball is played. Does not distinguish between normal play and forfeits. Treats any outcome after play begins as a valid Yes resolution.
  • Limitless: Resolves to the official winner regardless of method. Explicitly includes walkover, retirement, withdrawal, default, and disqualification as valid winner declarations. No special treatment for forfeits.
  • Polymarket (Winner Market): Resolves to advancing player if match begins and opponent retires/defaults/is disqualified. Pre-match walkovers resolve to 50-50. Canceled matches or matches delayed beyond 7 days without completion resolve to 50-50.
  • Polymarket (Completion Market): Resolves to Yes only if all games and sets are played to completion under normal play. Any forfeit (walkover, retirement, default, disqualification) resolves to No. Cancellations or delays beyond 7 days resolve to No.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price tennis matches through fundamentally different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and sharp action, then adjust to manage liability. Prediction markets like those tracked here rely on decentralized trader consensus, where participants directly buy and sell outcome shares. This can create gaps: prediction markets sometimes react faster to breaking news or injury reports, while sportsbooks may incorporate more sophisticated historical data. For this match, comparing the implied probabilities here against major sportsbook lines can reveal value opportunities before the event unfolds.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform design, liquidity depth, and user demographics all influence pricing. Kalshi operates under strict regulatory frameworks with specific contract structures, while Limitless attracts a different trader base with its own fee and interface model. Smaller trading volumes on either platform can amplify price swings from individual large trades. Additionally, each platform may resolve the match outcome using slightly different information sources or timing, creating temporary arbitrage windows. Monitoring both prices helps traders identify when one platform is mispricing relative to the other.

Several catalysts can shift odds before the match begins. Injury announcements or player withdrawals would trigger sharp repricing. Recent tournament form, head-to-head records, and court surface preference (grass at Wimbledon) influence trader positioning. Betting action from professional syndicates often precedes major moves. Weather forecasts, seeding changes, or unexpected upsets in earlier rounds can alter perceived matchup dynamics. Real-time odds updates across both platforms will reflect these developments, so monitoring volume spikes and price momentum helps traders anticipate market turns.
