Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time trader sentiment rather than fixed lines set by oddsmakers. On platforms like Limitless, prices adjust continuously as new information emerges and traders adjust their positions. Sportsbooks typically build in margins and may move lines more slowly. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where the crowd sees value or where consensus differs. Prediction markets tend to be efficient at pricing major events, though individual trader behavior can create temporary discrepancies worth monitoring.
On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders directly buy and sell outcome shares at prices they set themselves. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The implied probability for each player is derived from the current bid-ask spread and recent trade prices, updating in real time as new orders flow in. Traders compete to offer the best prices, which typically keeps the market efficient and responsive to breaking news or match developments. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices adjust to new information.
