This market will resolve to "Yes" if any player joins or leaves HEROIC's main CS2 roster (defined as players listed with status = "Starter" in the "Players of HEROIC" table on HLTV: https://www.hltv.org/team/7175/heroic#tab-rosterBox) by July 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". As of market creation the active starter roster consists of the following five players: nilo, xfl0ud, yxngstxr, Chr1zN, susp. Name changes or aliases referring to the same player do not qualify as roster changes. For the purpose of this market, "roster change" refers to any official signing, transfer, benching to inactive/reserve, release, retirement, or departure of a player from the active starter lineup. This includes adding new players (transfers, free agent signings, or loans), removing players (to bench/inactive, free agency, or other teams), or any change resulting in a different 5-player active roster on HLTV. Coach changes and temporary stand-ins for a single event will not count. For matches and events, the stand-in appears in the active 5-player lineup but with a clear marker (e.g., [SI]) to distinguish them from the core roster. The primary resolution source for this market will be HLTV; however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction markets and sportsbooks operate under different models. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, often incorporating a margin. Prediction markets like this one derive odds from continuous trading between participants who stake real capital on outcomes. This market reflects aggregated trader conviction about whether a roster change will happen, independent of betting spreads or house margins. While sportsbooks focus on individual game or match outcomes, prediction markets capture broader event probabilities. Both can inform decision-making, but they measure different aspects of market expectations and carry distinct incentive structures.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and asks for shares of the outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the marginal trader's assessment of the probability that HEROIC will make a roster change before August. As new information surfaces—such as team performance, player statements, or management announcements—traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. Higher prices indicate stronger market belief in a roster change; lower prices suggest skepticism. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market remains responsive to evolving circumstances throughout the trading period.
This market resolves around Aug 1, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed based on verifiable public reporting about HEROIC's roster composition. The resolution hinges on whether the organization has made an official roster change—such as signing, releasing, or trading a player—before the deadline. Once the event is verifiable from credible public sources, the market settles accordingly. Traders holding shares of the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. The exact timing of resolution may depend on when official announcements are made and independently verified.
Several catalysts could shift odds in this market. Official announcements from HEROIC management about signings, departures, or trades would have immediate impact. Poor team performance or internal conflicts could increase pressure for changes, moving prices upward. Conversely, strong results might reduce the perceived need for roster adjustments. Player statements, contract negotiations, or rumors about potential moves can also influence trader sentiment. Major esports events or tournaments where HEROIC competes may provide performance data that traders interpret as signaling management intent. Media reports and community speculation add additional layers of information that traders incorporate into their pricing decisions.
