This market will resolve to the region of the team that wins the Grand Final of the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC) Dota 2 tournament, held July 7–19, 2026 in Paris, France. For the purposes of this market, a team's region is determined by the regional classification listed for that team on its Liquipedia team page (https://liquipedia.net/dota2). Regions are grouped based on the Liquipedia classification at (https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Portal:Teams) If the winning team's Liquipedia regional classification does not fall into any of the six groups above, this market will resolve to the group containing the geographically nearest region, as determined by the team's classification on Liquipedia. The market resolves to the region of the single team that wins the EWC Dota 2 Grand Final (i.e., is awarded 1st place / the championship). If the tournament is cancelled, or is postponed such that no champion is determined by August 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". If there is a tie, this market will resolve to the region that comes first alphabetically. The primary resolution source for this market will be Liquipedia (https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Esports_World_Cup/2026), used both for the official champion and for each team's regional classification. The official EWC website (https://esportsworldcup.com) is the secondary source for the champion. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently. Sportsbooks set odds based on internal models and risk management, then adjust for betting volume. Prediction markets like this one derive prices from continuous trader participation—each bet directly influences the odds. This market aggregates thousands of individual forecasts into a consensus probability, often reflecting real-time information faster than sportsbooks update their lines. Comparing the two reveals whether professional bettors or the broader crowd sees greater value in a particular regional outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader buys and sells into continuous odds for each region. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing a regional winner, and the price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by the market. As new information emerges—such as team announcements or qualifying results—traders adjust their positions, moving prices in real time. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as volume increases, rewarding active participation.
Several catalysts could shift odds in this market. Major roster changes or player transfers within competing regions will influence perceived strength. Qualifying tournaments and regional championships leading up to the World Cup serve as live tests of team form. Coaching changes, sponsor announcements, and injury updates also move prices. Patch updates to Dota 2 itself can reshape the competitive landscape by buffing or nerfing heroes favored by specific regions. Media coverage, expert predictions, and betting trends from other venues provide additional signals that traders incorporate into their forecasts.
