If multiple shows tie for #1, this market will resolve according to the show whose listed title comes first alphabetically. The ranking is based on total views globally, as reported by Netflix for TV shows (English only). Currently, prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts frequently rely on viewership numbers and critical reception, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of factors and potential surprises. If analysts are consistently predicting one show to dominate, but this market shows significantly different probabilities, it suggests traders believe other elements – like social media buzz or word-of-mouth – could play a larger role in determining the top global Netflix show. It’s a fascinating comparison of different forecasting approaches.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on Netflix’s official reporting of the most-watched show globally for the week in question. This determination will be based on hours viewed, as reported by Netflix, and will be assessed against publicly available data sources to ensure accuracy. The market will then settle to reflect which show achieved the highest viewership during that period.
Several signals could significantly impact this market before Oct 13, 2026. A major marketing push for a new series, or unexpected positive (or negative) reviews, could shift trader sentiment. Social media trends, particularly viral moments related to a specific show, are also likely to influence the odds. Furthermore, any news regarding viewership numbers for the first few days of the week could provide early indicators and trigger substantial price movements in this market. Unexpected releases or announcements from Netflix itself could also play a key role.
