If multiple movies tie for #1, this market will resolve according to the movie whose listed title comes first alphabetically. The ranking is based on total views globally, as reported by Netflix for Global Top 10 Movies (English only). If the top10.netflix.com update does not occur by September 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".

Currently, it's difficult to directly compare the odds in this market to traditional analyst forecasts for Netflix viewership. While entertainment analysts frequently predict which movies will perform well, their predictions are often qualitative and lack the precise, probabilistic framing offered by this market. Often, these forecasts are released before the week begins, whereas this market continues to update until Sep 8, 2026, incorporating new data and reflecting changing expectations. It will be interesting to see if the market’s collective prediction aligns with eventual viewership numbers and industry reports.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a particular movie will be the top global Netflix movie this week. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices will fluctuate, providing a dynamic assessment of the most likely winner. The market’s efficiency relies on informed traders and active participation.
This market resolves around Sep 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the top global Netflix movie for the week is verifiable from credible public reporting. The determination will be based on official viewership data released by Netflix or a widely recognized third-party source tracking global streaming statistics. The market will then reflect which movie achieved the highest viewership during the specified timeframe, and shares in the winning outcome will be worth $1. The resolution process ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market’s outcome.
Several signals could significantly move this market before Sep 8, 2026. A major marketing push for a particular film by Netflix, or positive early reviews from critics, could increase its perceived chances of success. Unexpected news about cast members or production issues for competing movies could also shift probabilities. Furthermore, the release of official viewership numbers for the first few days of the week could provide valuable data, causing traders to adjust their positions accordingly. Social media trends and audience buzz surrounding different titles will also likely influence trading activity in this market.
