Netflix is expected to update its Top 10 movies list on top10.netflix.com on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 3:00 PM ET, reflecting viewership from the previous week (Monday to Sunday). This market will resolve based on which movie this update ranks as the #2 US Netflix movie. Movies will be primarily ranked by chart ranking. If two or more movies are tied on chart ranking, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the movies' listed titles. This market will resolve to the movie that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. The ranking is based on total views in the United States, as reported by Netflix for US Top 10 Movies. If the top10.netflix.com update does not occur by October 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than individual analyst forecasts. While analysts might rely on studio marketing spend or star power, this market incorporates the collective judgment of many traders. Discrepancies can arise when unexpected events occur or when the market perceives information not yet reflected in traditional analysis. It’s common to see prediction markets adjust rapidly to new information, sometimes outpacing analyst revisions, and providing a unique signal about the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous, decentralized exchange where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each movie’s probability of being number two. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular movie, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s depth and liquidity, indicated by the trading volume, also influence price discovery, ensuring a relatively efficient reflection of collective opinion.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the number two movie on Netflix in the US will be determined by publicly available rankings from Netflix itself or a widely recognized and trusted source that tracks Netflix viewership data. The market will settle to 100% probability for the movie that holds the number two position at the time of resolution, based on these verified rankings.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. A surprise new release, even if not heavily promoted, could quickly gain popularity and challenge the current frontrunners. Critical reviews, particularly if overwhelmingly positive or negative, can influence viewership. Social media buzz and trending topics related to specific movies can also drive trading activity. Finally, any changes to Netflix’s algorithm or promotional strategies could alter viewing patterns and shift the odds as traders react to these developments.
