These markets evaluate different thresholds of points scored by both teams combined in the first half of a college football game. Each threshold represents a specific point total that, if exceeded, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the first half of the Western Michigan vs Rice college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold: if the combined first-half points exceed the specified threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 41.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the first half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market aggregates insights from many individuals. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, particularly before significant events or when new information emerges. While sportsbooks may initially lean on statistical models, this market can quickly incorporate subjective factors and real-time news, potentially leading to more accurate predictions as the event approaches.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the total points scored in the first half of the Western Michigan vs Rice game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The official scorekeeping data will be used to determine the winning contract. The market will settle based on the final, official first-half point total, as reported by the game's official statisticians. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct point total will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Western Michigan or Rice would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift probabilities. Late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could also play a role. Furthermore, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and influence the price, especially if they signal informed betting activity.
