These markets evaluate how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Western Michigan and Michigan. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams in that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Western Michigan vs Michigan college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the 4th quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, trading remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the game’s outcome. If a significant number of traders believe the sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the price on Kalshi will move accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts, offering a different perspective on the potential for a high- or low-scoring fourth quarter.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their predictions. The price of a contract reflects the probability of the total points scored in the fourth quarter falling within a specific range. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. A higher price indicates a greater perceived probability of that outcome, while a lower price suggests a lower probability. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded.
This market resolves around Sep 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the fourth quarter is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, ensuring an objective determination of the total points scored during that period. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will receive a payout based on the final price of the contracts they held. The market will close prior to the end of the game to prevent manipulation and ensure a fair resolution process.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Western Michigan or Michigan would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable for high- or low-scoring offenses, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first three quarters, such as a dominant offensive showing or a strong defensive performance, could shift traders’ expectations and lead to price adjustments. Public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators can also play a role.
