This set of markets evaluates how many points will be scored in the first quarter of a college football game between Western Kentucky and Indiana. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored, determining whether the outcome meets or exceeds that benchmark.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the Western Kentucky vs Indiana college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from over 2.5 to over 27.5 points); if the actual points scored exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes. Only points scored in the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own independent predictions. If a significant number of people believe the sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the price on Kalshi will move accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, particularly before a lot of money has been traded on this market, as information and opinions evolve.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the first quarter total going over or under the specified number. As more traders buy 'yes' contracts, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders react to it, creating a real-time assessment of the potential outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official score of the first quarter of the Western Kentucky vs Indiana game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter, as recorded by official game statistics. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout, while those on the losing side will forfeit their stake. The final result will be publicly available on Kalshi.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Western Kentucky or Indiana teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, if the game is outdoors, could also play a role. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or starting lineups could impact trader sentiment. Even general public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, can contribute to shifts in the market price as traders adjust their predictions.
