This event tracks various thresholds of total points scored in a college football game between Western Kentucky and Georgia. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring intensity, allowing participants to assess the likelihood of high-scoring outcomes.
Each market resolves to Yes if the combined score of Western Kentucky and Georgia exceeds the specified threshold in their game scheduled for September 12, 2026. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final score. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they do so through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own modeling and a margin for profit, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant discrepancy appears between the two, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event, or that new information hasn't yet been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines. It’s common to see prediction markets offer slightly better odds, as there is no built-in profit margin for the venue.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different point totals for the Western Kentucky vs Georgia game. The price of each contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The market depth—the number of contracts available at each price point—shows how much volume is available to buy or sell at different levels, influencing price stability and potential volatility.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Western Kentucky vs Georgia game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored by both teams will be used to determine which contracts settle at 100, and which settle at 0. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the source of truth for the final point total. Traders will be able to see their positions settled accordingly shortly after the game concludes.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Western Kentucky or Georgia would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also move the market. Late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might also cause shifts in trader sentiment. Even public perception, reflected in polls or analyst predictions, can contribute to price fluctuations as traders react to new information.
