This market focuses on predicting which team will score the 28th point first in an upcoming football game between Washington and Philadelphia. It includes scenarios where either team reaches the mark first or if neither team achieves this scoring milestone during the game.
The market resolves based on which team first reaches 28 points in the full game, including any overtime periods, of the Washington vs Philadelphia Pro Football game originally scheduled for September 13, 2026. If Philadelphia scores the 28th point before Washington, the Philadelphia market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Washington reaches 28 points first, the Washington market resolves to Yes. Should neither team reach 28 points by the end of the game, the Neither Team market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves according to the final official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi clarifies that it is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd,' potentially incorporating information and perspectives not fully captured by traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, leading to odds that can diverge from those offered elsewhere. It's common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate breaking news or subtle shifts in perceived advantage, offering a potentially more dynamic assessment of the likely outcome compared to static sportsbook lines. However, both aim to predict the same event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. As more people buy contracts for a particular team reaching 28 points first, the price of those contracts increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling contracts drives the price down. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract represents the cost to own one unit of exposure to that outcome, and it fluctuates based on supply and demand from traders actively participating in the market. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to reflect the collective intelligence of the market participants.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be determined by which team, Washington or Philadelphia, officially reaches 28 points first during the game. The official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source, will be used to verify the outcome. The platform will then finalize the settlement of all outstanding contracts based on which team met the points threshold first, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or changes to the starting lineups for either Washington or Philadelphia would likely cause a shift in the odds. In-game performance during the early stages of the game—such as a team quickly scoring points or demonstrating a dominant offensive strategy—could also lead to rapid price adjustments. Unexpected weather conditions, if they impact the game’s style of play, might also be a catalyst. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s ability to reach 28 points first has the potential to move this market.
