This market focuses on predicting which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming professional football game between Washington and Philadelphia. It includes scenarios where either team scores first, or neither team scores a touchdown during the entire game, including any overtime periods.
The market determines which team, if any, will score the first touchdown in the Washington vs Philadelphia Pro Football game scheduled for September 13, 2026. All touchdowns—offensive, defensive, and special teams—are counted toward the outcome. If the first touchdown occurs in overtime, it still counts for the respective team's market. Should neither team score a touchdown at any point in the game, including overtime, the “No team scores a TD” market resolves as the winner. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains active and resolves based on the final official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market will resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines which can be influenced by factors like public bias or sharp action. Sportsbooks set lines to balance betting action, while this market is driven purely by participants’ beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. Over time, this market’s prices often become more accurate forecasts than traditional odds, as new information is incorporated by traders. It’s common to see convergence as the event approaches, though discrepancies can persist due to differing incentives and information access.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability assessment of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a specific team, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of them scoring the first touchdown. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of the event’s potential results. Trading volume influences price discovery, with higher volume generally leading to more efficient pricing.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first touchdown in the Washington vs Philadelphia game. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data, ensuring an objective determination of the winning outcome. The platform relies on publicly available and verifiable information to finalize the result, providing a transparent and reliable resolution process.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. News regarding key player injuries for either Washington or Philadelphia would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor a specific team’s offensive style, could also shift the odds. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or starting quarterbacks could also move the market. Finally, any significant shifts in public sentiment, perhaps driven by expert analysis or social media trends, could influence trading activity and alter the prices in this market.
