Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader conviction—there is no house edge. Traders who believe they have an edge on the consensus can profit directly by taking positions, which tends to surface information faster than traditional betting markets. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where public perception and prediction market pricing disagree, highlighting potential value.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief in that outcome's probability, ranging from near zero to near one hundred. As new trades execute, prices adjust in real time. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the final price at resolution determines payouts. This transparent, auction-like pricing ensures that all available information is reflected in the odds.
This market resolves around Jul 21, 2026, at which point the outcome will be confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning outcome is determined by the actual result of the matchup. Until that time, traders can continue to buy and sell positions as odds fluctuate. Once the event concludes and the result is official, the market settles automatically and payouts are distributed to holders of the correct outcome. All positions close at resolution, and no further trading occurs.
Several factors can shift odds before the market closes. Injury announcements, roster changes, or coaching decisions involving either team will likely trigger sharp price movements. Recent performance data, head-to-head records, and weather conditions on game day can all influence trader positioning. Breaking news about player availability or team form often causes rapid repricing as new information enters the market. Additionally, line movement at major sportsbooks and shifts in public betting patterns may signal where informed traders are positioning themselves, prompting others to adjust their views accordingly.
